About the Author

Theodore P. Burbank

In 1979 Theodore P. Burbank founded the first brokerage office, in Worcester County, MA, to specialize in the valuation and sale of private and family businesses. Since then, he has participated in the valuation and/or sale of more than 2,000 companies. Revenues of the companies served have ranged from $100,000 to $50,000,000.

A pioneer in the practice of business sales and valuation, Ted is recognized nationally as an authority on the subjects. He is contributing author of “Handbook of Business Valuations” and “Valuation and Sale of Small and Mid-size Companies”, both published by John Wiley & Sons as well as numerous articles on subjects surrounding business transfers. His newest works, the book "Buying a Business Made Easier" and DealMaker 4.0 (A six part Business Acquisition Software System) and "DealMaker docs" (business transfer documentation software) are published by Parker-Nelson Publishing as are the book “In and Out of Business ...Happily” and two business valuation programs; “VALUware 6.0” and EZbizVALUER 2.0.

Ted has conducted seminars for numerous colleges and trade groups in this country, Canada and abroad on business transfer and valuation issues, Succession Planning and Value Creation Strategies for Small Business.

Prior to founding Lighthouse Financial, LLC Ted had owned several businesses and had established himself as a major producer in the insurance industry.
